Obituary of Alfred Carl Bryant

April 9, 1952 to September 23, 2024

On September 23, 2024, in his 72nd year, our darling Carl passed away after a headstrong battle with cancer. Carl is best remembered by the title of his favourite song, Simple Man. A simple man who loved the simple things in life—trips to the Dominican with his wife; hangouts at The Carleton Tavern; beers on his porch; watching football with his sons; spending time with his daughter; gardening and growing tomatoes; and his unofficial position as neighbourhood watch from his front window.

He will be missed by his adoring wife, Brenda; his sons Scott (Ana Paula) and Darrell, and daughter Erin; step-children Karen and Adam; grandchildren Benjamin and Simon; his dear brother Eric and wife Kathy; in-laws John (Donna) and Barbara (Dave);his nieces and nephews and extended family.

Carl was predeceased by his mother, Evelyn “Betty”, father Neil, and his brother Donald (Tan). 

A reception in memory of Carl will be held Friday, November 1, 2024 between 1pm and 4pm at Pinecrest Memorial Centre (2500 Baseline Road). The family looks forward to hearing your stories and memories of Carl. 

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made in Carl’s name to the Canadian Cancer Society.
