Obituary of Giles Darvell

Giles Darvell, 65, peacefully passed away January 7^th 2023, surrounded by his loving family.

Giles was born on October 16^th, 1957 in West Ham outside London England to Betty and Henry Darvell. His family immigrated to Canada when Giles was 10 years old and he grew up in Montreal and Winnipeg before living the majority of his life in the Ottawa area.  Giles married Laura (Chapman) in 1981 and they had two sons, Brian and Alex.  For over 40 years Giles ran a horticultural business servicing the Ottawa area and was an avid volunteer in local baseball and soccer leagues as well as the Ottawa Heart Institute.

The family would like to thank the Ottawa Heart Institute for all it’s support and help over the last 12 years.  In lieu of flowers, the family would encourage donations to the Ottawa Heart Institute or the Ruddy Shenkman Hospice.

Giles is survived by his wife Laura, two sons Brian (Tanya) and Alex (Chelsea) and 4 grandchildren, Aurora, Chelsea, Noah and Abigail.

A Celebration of Life will be held this Friday, January 13^th from 1-3pm in the Pinecrest Reception Centre, 2500 Baseline Road in Nepean.
