I’ve worked for Giles for almost 7 years. He was a compassionate mentor, always bringing in new species for us to work with and learn about. We created beautiful tropical interiorscapes across our city, Ottawa, in Montreal and Toronto. He gave us wonderful opportunities that inspired us. I feel a great loss from his passing. He taught me so much and I will miss him dearly.

I speak for the entire BGIS Team (current and former) at Bank of Canada Head Office when I say Giles was always a pleasure to work with; it was obvious he cared so much for the horticultural elements at BOC HO and his guidance and professionalism have been instrumental in maintaining and improving the vast array of plants here at BOC HO.
I started at BOC HO in summer 2019 and Giles was one of the first service providers I met. His passion and attention to detail were obvious from that first meeting and throughout the time I had the pleasure of working with him. His hard work and dedication are two of the many positive attributes I’ll think of every time I walk through the Atrium here at BOC HO. We always knew we were in good hands with Giles. Giles has always been one of my best and truest friends. He possessed the qualities I value most in people; honesty, humour, intellect, dependability, integrity and yet so modest. I'll miss his infectious smile and laughter and the clicking sound he would sometimes make when beginning a reflective and direct response! He loved everything about life, but most of all he loved his family. He will be so very much missed. His departure has left a void in my soul.
