Obituary of Rose Marie Simpson
After a dinner with her beloved husband of 77 years, Rose Marie Simpson passed away peacefully on November 24, 2022. Born April 30, 1926, Rose Marie was raised in London England. During the second world war she was a lively young girl whos` life was forever changed when she met a shy young Canadian soldier. They married at the end of the war, and she returned to Canada with him with no idea what the future would hold. Together they built a life and a family. Marie cherished her family; she loved to laugh and sing and later in life learned to paint.
After a 20-year career with Bell Canada, she retired to spend time with family and travel. Marie was always up to adventure and loved to travel in Canada, as well as abroad. Camping in tents with a young family to travel across this great country with a travel trailer she would adapt and thrive.
Marie is survived by her husband Richard Simpson, son John (Diane) Simpson, daughter Janet (Ray) Gardiner, daughter Christina Burrows, son Robert (Predeceased) Simpson. Grandchildren Bonnie and Michael, Tammie and Mark, Kristen and Tylor, Amanda, Rebecca, and Jeffery. Great grandchildren Sydney, Abigail, William and Jordon, Cory, Kyle and Kole, Thomas, Devin, Savannah and Alexa. Great- great- granddaughter Ruby Marie Taylor.
The family would like to express our thanks for the care and kindness "Nanny" received while in care at Chapel Hill residence. The care and compassion of the PSWs and nursing staff at the time of her passing has touched us deeply.
