Dear Lori, Harrison, Laurent, Griffin and family,
Maggie and I sent our deepest sympathies to you and your family! and with big hugs to you all!
We share many wonderful memories of Dale over the years, as a very gracious and helpful neighbour. He set the bar very high for us, especially as a unique, active and respectful person who was truly a devoted husband, father and professional educator. As we say in German..Dale was " ein toller Mensch"......for our times!
Rest in peace Dale!

Our deepest condolences to Lori, Harrison, Lauren and Griffin Brown; And to Dale's brother Ken, his wife Chantale, and the extended Brown/Gareau families. Dale was one of the true greats, and truly one of a kind. He was a real gentleman. Along with his teaching credentials and considerable skill in all things "techie" - he had a great sense of direction. And gave the best directions of anyone I ever met. When i had to go to Ottawa, i would always call Dale and ask him how to get to the location i was looking for. And he always knew the best routes. "Don't go via Hog's Back - the road is under construction". I would buy a brand-new map (atlas we called them 'back in the day') and program my route in Garmin, or whatever other GPS i may have had access to. Then i would put the map in the glove box, leave it there, turn Garmin off because he/she/it confused me, and rely solely on my hand-written notes and squiggly lines on a piece of scrap paper that i had jotted down from my conversation with Dale the night before. I trusted those notes and Dale's directions implicitly. They guided me over the Ottawa river, across various bridges and landmarks and were always spot on. One of my biggest regrets in life is not going to Boston with Dale, Larry and Brad and missing out on an opportunity to see Tom Brady play - a weekend made possible by Dale. He had secured tickets to a Patriots game, a Celtics game and a Boston Bruins game. What i wouldn't give to get that opportunity again. Rest in peace, my friend, we all love you. Uncle Johnny and aunt Andrea. xoxo

Dear Lori, Harrison, Lauren and Griffin: Our deepest sympathies to you and your family at this time. Dale was truly a fine gentleman and one of a kind. He always made time for others, always inquired as to how we were and to quote Grandma, "you could tell he was genuinely concerned and cared about people". He will be deeply missed and we are so very sorry for your loss. Love, Uncle Johnny and Aunt Andrea.

Dear Lori, Harrison, Lauren and Griffin, I have said it before, but I am a better person for having known Dale and counting myself as one of his many, many friends. I was humbled and will always remember our visit last summer in Ottawa. It meant a lot to me, and I thank you guys for giving up some precious family time to entertain an old friend if only for a few hours. Natali and I are so very, very sorry for your loss.

My condolences to the Brown Family, Dale will be missed by many, he had friends far and wide. I met Dale at UNB, another one of those Aitken House guys, he was a great friend and although we lost touch for years at a time, we could always reconnect instantly. Thoughts and prayers to Dale’s family

Dale was a firecracker. I’ll remember him as Marvin the Martian (a costume I helped make) and for his fondness for fun. He made me laugh and was always a willing participant in mischief. My sincere condolences to his family.
