Albert Saikaley

Obituary of Albert Joseph Saikaley

Al died after a courageous and stubborn battle with cancer -he was, after all, a Saikaley. He has gone on to meet his beloved wife Cathy, who passed in January 2020. Together, they were what we call 'good people'. Over the years, they often cottaged at Chippewa Lodge in Barry's Bay, where Al was an avid fisherman. This wonderful, crusty and sweet man embodied the term "work ethic". Over the years, Al was employed at Abrams Supply, Wood Wyant, Ranger Sanitary Products, JM Ranger Canada and Poulain Distributions. There, he worked as shipper-receiver, purchasing agent, warehouse coordinator and warehouse manager -all at the same time! Al is predeceased by brothers Joel, George and Donald. He is survived by brother Sam (Pauline), daughter Cindy (Luc Frechette) and grandson Matthew of Winnipeg. He will also be missed "big time" by many nieces and nephews. He was grateful for the company and care of his "Stamford Cronies", especially Chad, Angela and all the neighbours. A Private Family Service took place at the Pinecrest Remembrance Chapel on Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at 11a.m. Family and friends are invited to view the Funeral Service virtually at: https://www.oneroomstreaming.com/view/authorise.php?k=160496856584854
