May our thoughts, prayers and youthful memories of summers visiting the Dickie Clan in Sudbury and gathering in Parry Sound be with you all this day.
My Motther Ina, and Oran were the closest of all the Dickie siblings, and we all felt that connection, even the next generation down, whenever we gathered, and Ian was always a warm, embracing and joyful part of those gatherings. May he rest in peace with the blessings of a life well lived, and with love all ‘round for his family, friends and all whom he touched.
Rita and family, we are with you all today in heart and spirit. Sending HUGE hugs to all,
Fondest regards and deepest condolences
The Calgary Gotfried-Dickie Clan

To Rita and family, our deepest condolences from Guy Chenard and family. Ian was a good friend to Guy and a well respected mining engineer. It was a great honor for me to meet Ian a few times while I was young and going into the mining engineering field myself. It was always inspiring to talk about mining and the projects he had been involved with. I remember a trip to Red Lake with my dad as a young boy and Ian giving me a tour of the shaft sinking project he was in charge of with MacIsaac Mining. He was very busy but still took the time to show me around the site and that left me with a found memory. our sincere condolences Alain, Guy, Chantal

Rita, Renee, Sean and your spouses and children. Ian was like an uncle to me. Your family was always a big part of our lives growing up. Endless memories of going to visit in Pittsburg, or other cities until you came back to Sudbury then to Ottawa to be closer to Renee and Sean and their families. Renee you were his mouse and Sean his big guy. We felt lots of love from him through the years. Vincent and Alexander also have fond memories of him. Alexander ate Ian’s portion of broccoli which Ian encouraged with a smile. He was always welcoming, pleasant and warm greetings. Let’s not forget him not knowing he was driving with a pie on his car trunk after picking Renee up from work at Walmart wondering why the stares and all the time I’m on the house with no pie. Let’s cherish and remember what Ian was, and all of those adventures. My mom fondly remembered the trip to Algeria. She sends her regards and wishes she could be. My dad was devastated to learn of his diagnosis and also cherished his time with him. Love Julie Vincent and Alexander
