Obituary of Sadie Dumaresq

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Sadie Dumaresq, 91, of Nepean, on December 30th, 2024.

Sadie was born on May 16th, 1933, to William and Georgianna Grant in York (Gaspé), Québec. She is predeceased by ten siblings, and survived by her youngest sister, Stella Buckingham. She will be sorely missed by many nieces and nephews.

She married Selwyn "Buzz" Dumaresq in Montreal on November 6th, 1954. They had three children - Dan, Debbie, and Charles - and five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, who were her pride and joy.

She was the parish administrator at St. Richard's for almost thirty years. After retirement, she continued to be involved in the church community.

She was an avid knitter, loved jigsaw puzzles, sang in the church choir, and was a huge baseball fan. Buzz & Sadie greatly enjoyed travelling, including across Canada, overseas to England, Scotland, and Jersey (Channel Islands), and on several cruise vacations.

Sadie was the beloved wife of Buzz for seventy years. She was the mother of Dan (Kathy Caldwell), Debbie (Paul Mulholland), and Charles (Lisa Elminowski). She was grandmother to Christopher (Kristine Fleck -Frappier) Mulholland, Erin (Allen Novodvorsky) Mulholland, Evan Dumaresq, Philip (Sage Minard) Dumaresq, and Matthew Dumaresq. She was great-grandmother to Kayleigh & Cormac Mulholland and Norah Novodvorsky.

Visitation will be Friday, January 3rd, at Pinecrest Remembrance Services (2500 Baseline Rd.), from 4-7pm. Funeral service will be Saturday, January 4th, at 11am at Julian of Norwich Anglican Church (formerly St. Richard's), 7 Rossland Ave in Nepean.
