Obituary of Rodanthi Tsangarakis

It is with great sadness, we announce the sudden passing of Rodanthi Tsangarakis( Bouranis) on Thursday November 28, 2024 at the age of 95.

She was a wonderful mother and grandmother who was always there when we needed her the most,offering support, wisdom and love in abundance.

A friend to many, she was a cherished member of the Greek Community, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and strength. Rodanthi was predeceased by her husband (Constantinos Tsangarakis), her daughter (Alexandra Papagiannopoulos) and son-in-law (Elias Papagiannopoulos). She is survived by her children, Mary (Eleuthere) and Thomas, and her grandchildren who she loved and adored immensely, Vaia (David), Christos, Rodanthi (Travis), Fotini (Alfonso) and Costa (Emma).

She was the best yiayia to her great-grandchildren, Avert, Annika and Ilio.

Rodanthi is also survived by her brother Thomas Bouranis (Jo-anna), Socratis (Nitsa) in Greece and many beloved nieces and nephews both here and afar.

Visitation for Family and Friends to take place on Thursday December 5th at the Dormition of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church, 1315 Prince of Wales Dr. From 10-11 am followed by the Funeral Service at 11 am. Interment will be at Pinecrest Cemetary, followed by makaria reception at the church.

The family would like to extend a heartful thank you to the staff at the Perley and Rideau Veteran Home. A very special thank you to Dr. MacDonald and Marie for their care and compassion.
