Obituary of Susan Powell

Susan Jane Powell (Susie) passed peacefully on September 22, surrounded by her loving children.

Susie was born to the late Margaret Joan (nee Howell) and Thomas Leslie Rees in Windsor, ON, on March 25, 1951. As a middle child, she cherished her siblings: Carole, Robert, Thomas & Claire. Susie found her soulmate in Ken Powell, and they were married on May 21,1971. Susie was preceded in death by her loving husband in 2018.

She is survived by her 4 children, Chris (Maddy), John, Marc & Gordon (Alex).  Also known as “Granny” to her 9 adoring grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.  Susie had a special talent for making each person feel uniquely loved and cherished. She was a child at heart and could always be found entertaining the children with her stories and countless children's games.

Susie spent her life raising her family, being involved in her community, and sharing her time with all who needed her.  

A celebration of life will be held at the home she fondly planned and built with her family on Oct. 5 at 2 pm for family and close friends.
