Obituary of Patricia LaHaise (nee Spencer)

Pat passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 20, 2024 with her daughter Donna at her side. She was loved and cherished by many throughout her 89 years.

Pat was born May 17, 1935 in Ottawa to Theresa (Christian) and Charles Spencer. She was the beloved mother of Dan (Pam Bryan), Donna (Bob McDougall) Colleen (Glen MacDonald), Maureen (Mark Ballerscheff), and Paul (Catharine Moore).

She is survived by her brother Dan Spencer (Bev) and predeceased by her brother Terry, (Donna Spencer Bertrand). Loving Gran to the McDougalls - Katie (Tais McNeill), Michael, Julie and the Ballerscheffs – Myles (Jenny Parsons) and Melissa. Great Gran to Emily McNeill and Myla Ballerscheff.

She was predeceased by the father of her children Gilbert LaHaise. Survived by many nieces, nephews and in-laws.

Pat retired from a long career at Bell Canada, making many lifelong friends. Always wanting to give back, she enjoyed volunteering. Her love of life, her family, friends and her positivity inspired all.

Special thanks to the staff at Omni Forest Hill, and former staff at Lynwood Park.

A visitation will take place at the Pinecrest Visitation Centre, 2500 Baseline Rd, Ottawa on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Mass to be held at St. Patrick’s Church Steeple Hill Cr, Fallowfield ON on Wednesday, July 31 at 11:00 a.m. followed by a Celebration of Life in the church hall.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer's Society and Ottawa Heart Institute are appreciated.
