Leo Muldoon

Obituary of Leo Joseph Muldoon

September 18, 1940 - May 30, 2024

Leo Joseph Muldoon, born on September 18, 1940, passed away during the night on Thursday, May 30, 2024, on his beloved farm, waiting for his new John Deere tractor to be delivered. A man of few words but many one-liners, Leo's local legend status was solidified when he survived being tossed from the roof of his barn during the 2018 tornado, and then recently escaped a fire in his shed and new coverall.

Married for 53 years, Leo is survived by his devoted wife, Adele Muldoon. Loving father to his three daughters: Melanie Armstrong (Scott), Mackenzie Marcia Muldoon, and Meghan Muldoon (Nicole). Cherished grandfather of Owen, Bennett, and Max Armstrong and Eloise, Georgia, and Everly Muldoon. Dear brother to Patsy Coady, Roy Muldoon and June Lavin and the late Eleanor Wilson, Donald Muldoon, Gerry Muldoon, Leona Curran, Theresa Jenkins, Noreen Muldoon and Anne Muldoon.

A passionate euchre player, Leo’s quick wit and warm heart will be deeply missed by family and friends. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the Bayshore Healthcare PSWs for their exceptional care over the past few years.

Rest in peace, Leo. Your spirit and humour will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved you, and all those whose lanes you plowed or who played a round of euchre with you.

Family and friends may visit at the Highland Park Visitation Centre, 2037 McGee Side Road, Carp on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at St. Isidore Catholic Church, 1135 March Road, Kanata on Thursday, June 6 at 11a.m. Interment and reception to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Leo may be made to the Diabetes Canada, West Carleton Food Access Centre or a charity of your choice.
