Obituary of Steven Burtt

Steven passed away suddenly in the Ottawa Civic Hospital on Monday April 15, 2024.

Beloved son of 42 years to Jim Burtt and Debbie Rice. Loving brother to Cindy, Michael, and Melissa. Cherished grandson of Wanda Burtt (predeceased by Gerry), Lola and Orville Rice (predeceased). He was loved by many aunts and uncles, cousins, family and friends.

Steven was born in Ottawa, Ontario. He grew up attending Sunday School and Christian Service Brigade at The Met. He participated in the Cadets program and enjoyed camping with family and friends. Steven became a skilled salesman and vehicle detailer. He was an avid skateboarder and spent much of his time fixing electronics. Later, he endured some difficulties and became homeless. A period of hardship that ultimately developed perseverance as he kept hope and always believed for better days. Steven remained positive and he was eventually blessed with shelter and care. His fortitude was found through his faith. He was a tenacious, passionate, and intuitive individual. Steven is now peacefully and joyfully with his Saviour Jesus. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.

A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at 11:00am at the Pinecrest Remembrance Chapel, 2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa.
