Obituary of Allan Hayes

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Allan Hayes on February 29, 2024 at the age of 61. Loving dad of Katie (Brayden) and Jack. Proud grandpa to Lilliana. Loyal son of Lola, stepson of Jim and brother to David (Sherry), Danny, and Chris (Kit). He will be missed by many additional family and friends. 

Allan was a journeyman baker in both Alberta and Ontario. He worked at Costco for over 20 years in the bakery department.  He always enjoyed making various treats such as his chocolates and donuts. Along with baking, he made delicious family meals and always made sure there was enough food to go around whatever the occasion. 

He was also a very talented gardener and could make even a wilted plant come to life. He spent many summer days tending to either his own or his family and friend’s gardens, turning them into stunning works of art. 

Christmas was his favourite time of year. He will always be remembered for his beautiful Christmas trees and decorations, along with all the holiday baking he loved to create.  

A Celebration of Life reception will be held on Friday, March 22, 2024 from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm at Pinecrest Reception Centre, 2500 Baseline Road, with a private funeral to proceed.  Memorial donations in his name may be made to the charity of your choice.
