Born in Ayr, Scotland on January 18, 1936 – Died in Ottawa on January 18, 2024

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Ron Merry on January 18, 2024, his 88^th birthday.  Ronnie is survived by his loving wife, Patricia “Patsy” Merry (nee Clapp), daughter Lynn, son Ron “Sam” (Nicole), grandchildren Andrew (Kylie) Hurst, Danny (Heather) Hurst, Rebecca, Ashley and Kellen, and great grandchildren Mae, Duncan, Oliver, Vivienne and Effy Hurst.  No one could put a smile on his face like his grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Uncle Ronnie to Jimmy and Debbie Gault, Sandie and George Wilson and Nancy Blair.  Predeceased by his parents, James and Margaret, brothers Tommy and Jim, sister Maureen O’Hara and son-in-law Neil Pritchard.  The family would like to thank the staff at Ruddy Shenkman Hospice for their care and compassion during his short stay.  In lieu of flowers, donations to Ruddy Shenkman Hospice would be appreciated.
