Obituary of Gary Rudolph Hartmann

Gary Hartmann passed away peacefully surrounded by his wife, Claudette Carignan and two children, Vanessa and Nicholas Hartmann on December 29, 2023. Born in Montreal on March 30, 1961 to June and Rudy Hartmann, Gary was the younger brother of Debbie Hartmann. After moving to Ottawa in 1988, Gary had a prosperous career as a commercial HVAC sales representative at Breck-Mar, which was later acquired by HTS Engineering. Gary enjoyed baseball, golf, curling, football, and hockey, a cold Jack Daniels and Coke, as well as spending time with his family, including his granddaughter Adalynn. Gary was a beloved uncle to Chris, Justina, and Michaela Di Fazio, and brother-in-law to Albert Di Fazio (Debbie). Gary will be fondly remembered by family and friends as having a witty sense of humor, strong opinions and beliefs, his courage and unwillingness to back down from a challenge, which was demonstrated through his many battles with his health over the years. The family would like to thank the teams at The University of Ottawa Heart Institute, all Ottawa Hospital campuses, and the Carleton Place Hospital. His wife and children will be hosting a Celebration of Life on Thursday, January 11, 2024 at Pinecrest Visitation Centre, 2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The University of Ottawa Heart Institute, any of the Ottawa Hospital campuses, or Carleton Place Hospital.
