I recreated my life in this beautiful Canada and have lived well. I came to the University of Ottawa for my graduate studies in 1970, and after graduation, worked with the National Library, (now called the Library and Archives Canada) for nearly 30 years as a librarian. I thank God infinitely. I thank Canada and my family in Japan, and all my dear old and new friends in Tokyo and in Canada for their unfailing friendship. I thank all my doctors, especially Dr. Jennifer Chew, and all the kind people whom I have met in my life. I have loved classical music throughout my life and enjoyed countless concerts and operas. In my later years I studied piano, which was shared by my beautiful and affectionate cat Lilas (Ragdoll) who would sit beside me on the bench when I played. Lilas, as well as Nonko and Marigold (my two spirited Calico cats) became my loving family. I thank their veterinarians and my piano teachers. I wish you all the best for a good life. A Private Memorial Service will follow in the Spring. In lieu of flowers kind donations to the Ontario Veterinary College Pet Trust at the University of Guelph or the Unitarian House (Non-denominational, non-profit retirement residence, 20 Cleary Avenue, Ottawa would be greatly appreciated.
