Elsie Reeve

Obituary of Elsie Margaret Reeve

Born in Cheshire, England, to Bertrum and Mary Jones, Peggy was one of six children. She served in the British Women’s Airforce in WWII where she met Austin, her husband of 75 years. They moved to Canada in 1952, first settling in Toronto where Peggy worked for Bell Canada, before moving to Ottawa in 1962. They lovingly raised two children, David (Nell) and Glenys Coffin (Dave). She was the proud Nana of Lindsay (Ian) and Michael (Caitlin) and Great-Nana of Finley, Jack, Bennett and Haley. She will be remembered fondly by her second family, Lori, Ashley (Julien), Eli and Erin Hill, as well as friend Lynda Scott. Peggy made the most of her 99 years and lived a life with no regrets – she travelled the world, bowled with the Kanata Seniors, ballroom danced and enjoyed many cups of piping hot tea. Heartfelt thanks to Dr. Lynsey Bartlett, Dr. Paul Hacker and the palliative care team. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Ruddy-Shenkman Hospice. A reception to celebrate her life will be held from 1:30 to 3:30 pm on Thursday, November 9 at Pinecrest Memorial Centre.
