Obituary of Rose Marie Pieroway

Marie passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on October 23, 2023, aged 84 years. She was predeceased by her loving husband Ben. Marie is survived by her children Benny, Brenda, Harold (Paule), Alan (Megan), Melinda, Scott, Joanne (Dave), and Jamie (Amanda). Much loved grandmother of Bryce, Catherine, Evan, Cadence, Brody, and Mackenzie. She is also survived by sisters, Joan (late Tom), Madonna (John), and brother Bob (Gertie). Also, by many nephews and nieces. Marie is fondly remembered by several sisters and brothers-in-law. Marie was predeceased by her parents Peter McDonald and Sophie Bruce. Also, by sisters Mae (late George), Pat (Late John), and brothers Joe (Phoebe), Gary and Tom.

Marie was born in Corner Brook, NL, where her first job was at the Westport Inn where she met Phoebe, her future sister-in-law. After marrying in 1961, the newlyweds moved to Ontario where Ben was posted with the Canadian Army. They moved back to Newfoundland in 1965. In 1972, they moved to Ottawa where they would remain. Marie worked and retired from New Orchard Lodge after many years of service.
