Obituary of Ronald Hill

It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Ronald Storie Hill at the age of 94 on October 2, 2023. Born in Ottawa on June 25, 1929.   Ron is survived by his wife Patty Anne (Morin) and his three children Cynthia, Kevin (Heather) and Jennifer.   He will be terribly missed by his beloved grandchildren who were the apples of his eye, Marina and Seamus Thomson. Ron was predeceased by his parents Cliff and Kathleen Hill of Ottawa and by his brother Stuart Hill of Brampton.  Ron was a cartographer by trade, working at the Geological Survey of Canada for 39 years. His true love was his art and his gift to us are his wonderful paintings that hang on our walls. Ron's love of the outdoors created cherished memories for the children and grandchildren as Ron took them on many outings. His quick wit will be missed by all. We wish to thank the Palliative Care Team especially Dr. Douglas and the nurses and the Personal Support Workers for their wonderful care and support while Ron was at home.  We would also thank the compassionate staff at the Ruddy Shenkman Hospice for the dignity and respect they gave Ronald during his last days and for their kindness towards our family.  As Requested by Ron, a private family service will be held. We would ask that any donations in his honour be made to either the Ruddy Shenkman Hospice, the Dementia Society, Ottawa University Heart Institute or to the Canadian Cancer Society.  Online condolences may be made at colefuneralservices.com.
