Obituary of Devon La Prairie

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Devon La Prairie. Born on July 21, 1985, Devon left us too soon on June 22, 2023. His warm, welcoming, and big-hearted spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Devon carried a notable character of kindness and resilience. He always had an open heart and was willing to provide help to anyone in need, acting as a beacon of friendship and support. 

He loved sports, whether it was playing them, cheering on friends and family or coaching. It was amazing watching him bring his joy of sports, particularly volleyball, to the kids he was coaching. He brought such laughter and positivity to the court. 

A committed professional, he demonstrated remarkable perseverance and tenacity. One of his most notable achievements was earning his gold seal in health and safety, an accomplishment that he achieved through sheer hard work and determination. Despite the challenges he faced along this journey, Devon remained unwavered and surpassed each obstacle with courage and determination.

His enduring legacy comprises much more than his professional accomplishments. His most cherished legacy can be found in the family he loved so dearly. He leaves behind his loving wife, Cailin La Prairie, and their two children, Liam and Abaigeal, who will continue to live out his love for them.

We invite everyone who had been touched by Devon's remarkable life to join us for a Celebration of Life in his honor on July 9, 2023, at 1:00 PM. The event will be held at Cole Funeral Services & Highland Park Cemetery. Devon was a man of great kindness with a large heart. He will be deeply missed by all those who knew him, whether they were two-legged or four-legged friends. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him and in the lessons he left behind.
