Obituary of Harvey Monahan

Peacefully in hospital on Thursday May 18, 2023, Harvey Monahan at the age of 92. Beloved husband of Louise (nee Lafontaine). Father of Wendy and Robbie (Charlyn), grandfather of Harley (Sarah), Alexander (Victoria) and Maggie Eastman (Shane) and 4 great grandchildren. Much loved brother of Bonnie Mackie (late Gerald) and the late Elsie (late Oswald McRostie), Carmen Monahan (late Velma), Edna Carnegie (late Wally) and Kay Rutledge (Ernie). Cherished son of the late Jim and Margaret Monahan. Uncle Harvey will be sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews, cousins, and especially by Kelly, Dan, Kim, Julie and their families.

A proud long serving employee of the Bank of Canada. Harvey was well known in the Ottawa Valley for playing country music and square dance calling, his days on CFRA with the Happy Wanderers and at many Old Time Fiddlers Clubs. He much enjoyed the Ottawa curling community, a gentleman Skip. Harvey’s favorite time was spent with family at the cottage, fishing on Lac McArthur and family BBQ’s. He will be sadly missed by his cherished pal Muffin.

Family and friends are invited to a Funeral Service at Pinecrest Remembrance Services, 2500 Baseline Rd. on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at 1 p.m. followed by interment. A time of fellowship, good memories and refreshments will follow.
