Deepest sympathy to all of you from Phil and me.
She was a lovely, kind, and witty lady. Here are a few of my favourite memorable moments with Mary.
Your mom made me, Diane and Yvonne brown sugar sandwiches on a slice of bread folded in half. She specifically warned us that the brown sugar would fall out if we started eating at the fold. I did and it did! She made me another one and didn't say a word about stupid kids.
She was my godmother for confirmation and bought me a framed picture of Jesus wiht a beautiful chiffon and lace mat to sit it on so it wouldn't scratch the dresser. I remember how beautiful she was in her new royal blue coat and black feather hat (all the style then) as my godmother at my confirmation.
I remember how she got Mr. Lauzon across the street to come and help get my finger out the wagon handle (steel tube) when I visited in Glen Norman. She didin't give me heck, but she did ask why I had stuck my finger in there. I didn't know!
On my 40th birdthday she had me over to the new house on the 9th and made a prime rib roast and Bananas Foster for dessert. She had me soak in her jet tub with candles in her beautiful new bathroom, then dinner, then a movie. Fried Green Tomaotes on TV with the fireplace going and drinks. We thought your dad had slept through it, but when it was over, he piped up; "They ate that guy, you know."
