Obituary of Margaret "Jane" Dicintio (Forrest, Higgins)

With deep sorrow we announce the peaceful passing of Jane on February 3, at the age of 63, after a short struggle with a very aggressive cancer. She will be sorely missed by her husband, Pasquale (Pat) Dicintio, daughters Lauren Gallagher (Mark), Kristen Standing (Matthew) and Kelly Higgins (Taylor Brown) and her beloved grandchildren, Ronan and Patrick Gallagher, Riley, Hallie and Thomas Standing and Brooklyn and Hayden Brown as well as Pat’s children Anthony Dicintio, Leanne Barber (Christopher) and Shauna Saikaley (Justin) and their children. Also mourning her passing are her mother, Meryl Forrest (late Donald), her sisters, Lynn Forrest (late Tony Cook) and Laurie Forrest (Jim Smeall), her nieces and a nephew. She is survived by the father of her three daughters, Tim Higgins.

Jane was a sweet, mischievous, and adorable child, bringing much joy to her parents and sisters as she grew to become a loving, compassionate, and kind person. She was always so dedicated to whatever commitment she made.  Her family meant everything, and she raised three wonderful girls who are now raising their children with the same love she showed them. Jane embraced the role of Grammy and her grandchildren brought great joy to her life. She loved to travel, especially enjoying the several times she and Pat visited Italy.

A visitation will be held on Friday, February 10, at Pinecrest Remembrance Services, 2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa from 1pm until the celebration of Jane’s life at 3pm. Rev. Stewart Hewlett officiating. Donations in memory of Jane can be made to the Ruddy-Shenkman Hospice, Ottawa or the Canadian Cancer Society.
