Ronald Phillips

Obituary of Ronald Phillips

Ron passed away suddenly, at the age of 78, on November 10th while travelling in North Carolina.

Ron made his living as a welder and fabricator and was respected for his skill and craftmanship in everything he built. He was also an avid athlete who enjoyed canoeing, skiing and biking, and he took part in countless competitions throughout his life. The following quote from Confucius captures Ron’s approach perfectly, “It does not matter how slow you go, as long as you do not stop.”

Ron is predeceased by parents Rene Phillips, 1959 and Mabel Phillips (nee Sabourin), 1998. He is survived by daughter Amanda (Dave), son Matthew (Jennifer), grandchildren Leigh (Jake), Tyson (Zyeleika), Colin & Erica, siblings Joyce, Ken (Lorraine), David (Sharon) and Carol (Dennis). He is fondly remembered by Margaret & Bruce Joyce, as well as his numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will take place at Pinecrest Cemetery, in the Pinecrest Chapel on Saturday, January 14th, 2023 from 1 – 4 pm. Words of remembrance will begin at 2 pm.

The family encourages people to consider donating to the Canadian Kidney Foundation in Ron’s memory.
