Obituary of Frank Reid
Loving father, husband, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on the morning of Oct. 20, 2022, at age 76 after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born to Clifford and Kathleen Reid on Feb 11, 1946 in Belleville Ont. He leaves his beloved wife Louise Matte and her children, brother Ross Reid (Sue), children Steven Reid (Stephanie), Sally McQuinn (David), Shelley Hunter (Jeff) and granddaughters Cora, Shayla, and Trinity McQuinn, and Ava and Ashley Hunter.
Frank was devoted to his community and spent a large part of his professional career in service to the City of Ottawa as a member of the city and regional council. He was passionate about sports and won the Grey Cup with the Ottawa Rough Riders in 1973.
Frank’s heart was immense. He was a gentle giant who embraced life with a generous heart that always found room for others. He loved volunteering and lending a hand to anyone in need. He knew the importance of celebrating life and making the most of even small moments, whether surrounded by friends and laughter or in his garden surrounded by the sounds of nature.
