Obituary of Wladyslawa Bala

Władysława Bala.

   1929-2022

Passed away peacefully on Friday, October 21st 2022. Beloved wife of the late Feliks Bala. Proud and loving mother of Peter (Jo-Anne) and Andrew (Elizabeth). Cherished grandmother of Joseph (Jessica), Kathryn (Jonathan), Jaclyn, Gregory (Marta) and Caroline. Great grandmother of Zoe and Jack.

The Bala family took a risk and came to Canada from Poland in 1961. Władysława and Feliks often worked two jobs and, most importantly, instilled the value of education in their sons. Władysława was a long time member of Holy Trinity Parish in Montreal and St. Hyacinth’s Parish in Ottawa. She became a young widow in her forties and lived independently for an additional forty-two years. Władysława was a wonderful cook and her family has treasured her cauliflower soup recipe for generations.

Friends and family may pay their respects at Cole (Pinecrest) Funeral Services (2500 Baseline road) on Thursday October 27, from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Rosary prayers at 8:00pm. Funeral mass at St. Hyacinth RC Church on Friday October 28 at 10:00am. Internment to follow at Cote des Neiges Cemetery in Montreal at 2:00 pm. Many thanks to the staff of St. Patrick’s Home of Ottawa for their compassionate care over the last few years.
