Obituary of Evelyn Beck
Evelyn passed away on Tuesday October 11, 2022 at the age of 59. Loving mother of son Benjamin Bomberg (father Peter), predeceased by her mother and father Herta (2020) and Hans (2012) and sister Irene (2018). Survived and dearly missed by sister Doris and brother Norman (Carol). Wonderful fun aunt to Graham (Jessica), Leah (Eric Hein), Philip (Julia) and generous great aunt to their children Oliver, Emery, Jamie, Riley, Colton and Poppy. Lovingly missed by aunt Amanda Mojsiuk, uncle Edmund (Brigitte) Scholl, and cousins Margit (Jerry) Vacola, Charlie (Nadine) Scholl, Deborah Mojsiuk, Ralph (Mary Ann) Mojsiuk, and Dorothea Scholl.
Evelyn’s life adventure began in Sudbury, Ontario on May 17, 1963. Her late teens led her to Toronto, then Kingston where she held her first Federal Government job with Correctional Services Canada. Next was Lahr, Germany working for the Canadian Armed Forces. Upon her return to Canada, she completed her B.Comm degree, then worked at DFAIT. In 2001 Benjamin was born and for the next six years she dedicated her attention to their adventures together until he was attending school full time. She then progressed through several roles at CBSA until her retirement.
Evelyn lived her life full out and with a unique zest, creating memories that turned into lively stories which she loved to recount to family and friends. She travelled the world, took up scuba diving, nurtured her gardens, and enjoyed exotic foods. She had a gift of quickly forming deep and meaningful friendships in every corner of her life. She was profoundly grateful to her many friends for the joy, love, experiences, stories and memories they created together. She was fun to be around and wherever she was, there was always lots of laughter. She cherished her family ties, far and wide. She loved her family deeply, bonds of love that will continue forever.
Evelyn was especially grateful for the extra 5 years God gave her, trusting Him and drawing nearer to Him during this time. She is now with God, free from her earthly cares.
