Obituary of Richard Earl McCarthy

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Richard at home, surrounded by his loving family on Friday, September 30th, 2022. Beloved husband and best friend of Cheryl (Murray) for 45 years and loving father of Meghan (Tony) and Jeffrey.  Adored grandpa of Antonio (AJ). Loved son of  Earl (deceased) and Pauline Sauve (deceased).  Dear brother of Gary, Margaret (Mike), Francine (Chuck) and Paul.  Special brother-in-law to Judy (Brian), Brian (Beth) and Gayle (Bart, deceased).  Proud uncle to many nieces and nephews.  Also survived by special family members, Bev McCarthy and her daughters, Melanie, Shannon and Shelley.  Richard will be greatly missed by many friends, especially Angela McIntyre (Ian deceased), Ambrose, Dave, Clint, Bill and Karnail. Richard’s fellow tennis players from CHTC will miss his musical memories played as he approached the courts as well as his antics on the courts. Heartfelt thanks and appreciation to Drs. Ong, Breau, Perry and Hacker.  Visitation at Pinecrest Visitation Centre, 2500 Baseline Rd., Ottawa, on Friday, October 7th, 2022 from 6-9 p.m. Funeral Mass at St. Augustine's Church, 1060 Baseline Rd. on Saturday, October 8th at 11a.m. A  reception will follow in the church hall. In memory of Richard, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
