Born in Toronto, she attended St. Clements School and then trained as a nurse at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto.  Carol married Don in 1953 and they spent 63 happily married years and raised their four children. Their life together would take them on many adventures, and living in numerous places throughout Canada from Sudbury, Winnipeg, Thompson, Toronto and Elliott Lake before settling down in Kanata in 1972.

Carol was a devoted and loving wife, mother, aunt, sister and sister-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother.  Friendships have always been treasured by Carol and she remained connected to friends that she and Don met throughout their lives. Carol loved playing bridge with her numerous bridge club friends and was an avid curler, looking forward to her annual trips to Montebello with her SLICC friends. Carol and Don loved to travel, and Ireland was a special place for her. Carol adored dogs, who always brought her much happiness, even in her last days. Granny will always be remembered for teaching her grandchildren cribbage and baking them her famous ginger cookies and butter tarts.  Carol was a thoughtful and caring woman who spent her life thinking of others. She always surrounded herself with her friends and family, which is where she felt most happy and loved. Carol always greeted everyone with her beautiful smile, which lit up the room until her last moments.  Carol will be deeply missed by all.

Carol passed away peacefully in the presence of her children with the gentle assistance of MAiD in Ottawa. She will be buried beside her cherished husband, Don, in a private ceremony.
