Libera Romana Sirotich

1940 - 2022

Passed away peacefully on July 19, 2022 surrounded by her family following a brief battle with cancer. Beloved wife of Renato Sirotich for 60 years. Loving mother of Roberto (Yaima) and Silvia (Ru) and cherished grandmother of Nicolette, Zachary, Zane, Tyler, Isabella and Madison. Daughter of the late Lucia and Giovanni Saule. Dear sister of Albino and predeceased by siblings Antonio, Maria, Giovannin, Palma and Luciano. Cherished sister-in-law of Renato’s siblings Silvano, Eda, Franco and Irma but especially Lidia who was like a sister to her. Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and cousins in Canada, Italy, Istria and the United States.

Anyone who had the pleasure of knowing Libera will remember her for her kind and gentle nature. She consistently put others before herself and this was especially true for her family.  Known for her strong work ethic, her beautiful sewing and delicious cooking, her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren. She will be sorely missed by many family members and friends.

The family wishes to thank the Health Care Team of the 6 East Unit of the Ottawa General Hospital for their care and compassion during her final days.  For those who wish, memorial donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Friends are invited to visit at the Pinecrest Visitation Center, 2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa on Sunday, July 24 from 7pm until 9 pm.  A funeral service will be held at the same location the next day, Monday, July 25^th at 10 am in the Pinecrest Chapel. Interment and reception to follow.
