Obituary of Barbara (Barb) Lajeunesse

October 11, 1937 – April 19, 2022

It is with great sadness and much love that we mourn the passing of Barbara (Barb) Lajeunesse, at the age of 84 after a valiant battle with leukemia.

Loving wife and best friend of the late Maurice (Moe) for over 58 years. Very proud Mom to Michele and Jon (Steph), equally proud grandmother (Nanny) to Olivia, James and Jessica, and adoring fur mom to Lacey. Cherished sister of Doug Bailey (Fiona). Predeceased by her parents Ken (Ace) and Lilian Bailey and her brother John.

Barb will also be lovingly remembered by her many long-time friends, especially Mike and Gloria Lessard, Mavis McArthur, and Michael Mason.

Anyone who was fortunate to call Barb a friend knew her focus was on her family and on her community. She was Executive Director of the Olde Forge Community Resource Center for 23 years and was ever active with her community association, advocating to make things better for the citizens of Ottawa. An achieved Master Gardener, Barb had a natural green thumb evident in her beautiful gardens which you would find her tiptoeing barefoot in regularly!

At Barb’s request there will be no service. In leu of flowers, donations to the Ottawa Humane Society in her honour would be greatly appreciated.
