Obituary of Robert James Simpson
Peacefully at home with his family, Bob went to sleep for the last time on Monday March 28th after a long battle with cancer. Bob was born September 22nd 1951 and raised in Ottawa. Trained as a Machinist, a trade he loved and excelled at for over 45 years. He retired from Healthcraft after over a decade designing and building products to help aging people to remain safely living at home. He was very proud of his work there and enjoyed the friendships of his coworkers, with whom he was happy to mentor and pass on his vast knowledge.
Bob is survived by his parents Richard and Marie Simpson, his siblings John (Dianne), Janet (Ray) Gardiner and Tina Burrows; his children Amanda (Chris) Verran, Rebecca (Gavin) Schwier and Jeffrey (Deidre) as well as his grandchildren Devin, Savannah and Alexa. Bob also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.
A sincere thank you to all the wonderful doctors, nurses, and PSWs who helped Bob remain comfortable at home. A particular thank you for the kindness and care of Dr. Swami. In Bob’s memory, kindly consider a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society.
