Obituary of Ruby Catherine Weber (nee Chisholm)
Ruby Catherine Weber (nee Chisholm) age 97, died peacefully at home on March 24, 2022. Predeceased by her husband George, Ruby is survived by her daughter Gail (Raymond (deceased) and son Lyle (Janice).
Ruby loved her family and was filled with pride and joy for her grandchildren Lee (Lynne), Amy (Brian), Corey (Kelly), and Joel (Sylvie) and great-grandchildren Sheamus, Grace, Hailey, Rylee, Rachelle, Chloe, and Audrey. She will be fondly remembered by brother Gordon, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She loved God and was a devout Roman Catholic.
Originally from Maple Creek, Saskatchewan, at just 16 years of age followed her dreams and moved to Ottawa in 1940 where she took a job with the government. She met the love of her life George and they married in 1946.
George and Ruby surrounded themselves with great friends, either spending time at their cottage in Bear Lake, winters in Florida, or gatherings at their home.
Ruby was always smiling, enjoyed a good joke, and was a devoted Ottawa sports fan. She was always ready for a card game or just sitting in her “Nan Cave” remembering her time growing up on the prairies. We could all learn something by the way Ruby lived her life.
What’s not to love about a woman who loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren almost as much as she loved the Ottawa Senators.
Private burial Services have taken place. Donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
