It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Doreen Isabelle Malette (nee McNulty) at the Grace Manor on March 13, 2022, in her 81st year with family by her side. Born in Renfrew, ON, Doreen met a handsome young man from across the Ottawa River (Portage-du-Fort, QC) whom she would go on to marry, move to Ottawa, raise a beautiful family, and cherish the next 62 years together.
Beloved wife of Melville (Mel) Malette and loving mother of 5 children: Vincent (Joana), Carol (Mike), Steven (Gail), Daniel (Madeline) and Diane. Cherished grandmother of: Tyler, Breanna, Amanda, Alyssa, Jordan, Carter, Erica, Riley, Mitch, Dylan; and great-grandmother of: Carson, Brooklyn, Lyla and Emma.
Doreen was predeceased by her 4 brothers: Harry, Donald, Glen, Kenneth (her twin brother); and 5 sisters: Eileen, Beatrice, Rena, Alma, Shirley.
Doreen was a loving wife and devoted mother who put the needs of her family ahead of her own. She will always be remembered by friends and family for her infectious smile, love of hockey (especially the Ottawa Sens), playing Bingo, listening to her favourite music artist - Charlie Pride and spending summers at the cottage in Portage-du-Fort.
A heartfelt thank you to the wonderful staff at the Grace Manor, especially Melanie Forster, for the amazing love and care you provided to her over the past 2 years.
