Joan Plouffe

Obituary of Joan Anne Plouffe

Dearly loved by her husband Bill; her children David, Jim and Susan; her grandchildren Maeve, Aimee, Christopher, Elisa and Matthew; her brothers Bill and Doug and their families as well as many cousins and friends. Predeceased by her parents, George Osborne and Jean Thompson.

Joan’s life was dedicated to service and caring. For 35 years Joan was an army wife picking up roots and moving from city to city and country to country while loving and caring for her family and quickly becoming a valued member of whichever community she found herself in – usually associated with a Catholic parish.

Finally settling down in Dunrobin in 1989, Joan was always active,  whether as an elementary school teacher or later tending her extensive gardens, knitting, oil painting, creating miniature scenes or playing a mean hand of bridge with her friends. She was an active St. Isidore parishioner and a member of the Dunrobin Women’s Institute. We will all miss her.

Due to COVID restrictions attendance at the Mass of Christian  Burial at St Isidore Parish, Kanata, on Friday February 11 is limited to family and friends by invitation.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army or St. Isidore Parish Church.
