Michel Laframboise

Obituary of Michel Laframboise

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Michel Joseph Laframboise on November 11, 2021, at age 58 years.

Michel was born in Ottawa, Ontario, on February 23, 1963, to his parents Richard and Monique Laframboise, who predecease him. His family instilled in him many lessons that he took with him throughout his life, such as treating others with kindness and respect and viewing life with a “glass half full” mentality.

Meeting his soulmate, Astrid, at a young age, they began a journey that would take them through 28 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they raised two daughters, Jessika and Kelsey, with limitless love, devotion, understanding, and ultimately, lots of patience. Anyone who knew Michel knew that his true calling was to be a loving husband and devoted father.

Michel grew up helping his dad and grandfather run the local Esso station. This later turned into a career, where he ended up working for MacEwen Petroleum as a Territory Manager. His drive, ambition, honesty, and approachability followed him through almost 20 years with the company.

Michel was an uncomplicated man: he enjoyed good music, a friendly game of golf, and challenging video games. He was a friend to all and loved hosting parties, where he would prepare and cook the food with care. His preferred method of cooking was on one of his barbecues (yes, he had more than one barbecue). But above all, he cherished the time spent with his three girls and two cats.

He lives on by his loving wife, Astrid Laframboise, and his two grateful daughters, Jessika and Kelsey Laframboise. He is also survived by his two brothers, Luc and Marty (Wendy), and his godchildren, Cara and Crystal.

A Private Funeral Service will be held at Pinecrest Remembrance Chapel. If so desired, the family has requested memorial donations made to Hospice Ottawa – Ruddy Shenkman in lieu of flowers.
