Obituary of Elsy Petronella Azar

It is with much sadness that we say goodbye to Elsy Azar who left us on November 5th, peacefully at home. She was determined, and made it to 90 years old. She fought a difficult fight but kept her wit and humour throughout. Now she can be at peace. 

Elsy is survived by her loving children: Cindy, Jeff and Patricia, grandchildren Aiden, Brooke and Cody,  brother Maarten and her many nieces and nephews here and in the Netherlands. Predeceased by her beloved husband, Paul and brothers and sisters Jan, Tony, Alida and Hendrina. May they meet in a better place to celebrate happy times.

A huge thanks to the fantastic staff at Thorncliffe Retirement Residence (or, as Elsy would call them, her angels) for taking such amazing care of her. Be at peace and breath easily now. You will be terribly missed by all of us. 

A Celebration of Elsy’s life will be held at a later time. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to The Dementia Society of Ottawa and Renfrew County
