Obituary of Glen Howard Richardson

President WestGlen Utility Construction 1970’s

Retired Bell Canada 1984

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our father, Glen peacefully at home, at the age of 82.  Predeceased by his beloved wife of 56 years, Sally (nee Leafloor).  Cherished father of Lisa (Ken) and Luke (Stephanie). Loving Grandpa to Morgan and Daron (deceased 2010).  Glen is the son of the late George Richardson and Ivy Walls.  Predeceased by his sisters Dorothy Mahon (Horace), Edna McClinton (Ruggy) and brother Mervin Richardson (Carol). Dearly missed by many nieces and nephews.

Dad cherished his time with family and friends at the cottage on Richardson Lake. A community built with love and laughs.  Corn roast parties, music jam sessions, long weekend gatherings, were enjoyed. His favourite were the work projects on the beach and around the farm, giving guidance and strong suggestions with “how” the project should be done. He was always proud of the end result finishing with a cheer.

Member of the Eardley Lake Hunt Camp for many years of fun.  Famous pizza making was enjoyed, especially when he would arrive at parties with a couple in hand. Glen spent countless hours at the rink as a player, coach, GM, Commissioner, hockey dad and proud grandpa.  Loved the game and for years when watching his family and other players would sit on the other side of the rink so that he could focus on the game. Known as “the expert” skate sharpener at BAS Arena. Devoted to the community associations of Ottawa West Hockey and the Ottawa Valley Ambassadors.

Remembered as a great father, grandfather, friend and mentor.

We will miss you blasting down the hill and roads in your favourite Kubota, singing and laughing.
