Obituary of John Kent Walker

Dr. John Kent Walker, age 84, of Ottawa, passed away July 20, 2021, at the Ottawa General Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Alberta, the youngest son of the late Jessie and Ken Walker. He is predeceased by his siblings Doug, Paul and Patricia.John had a long and distinguished science career with the federal government. He was a longtime member of the Nepean Sailing Club and the Friday Luncheon Discussion Club. He enjoyed reading, music, curling, sailing, and spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. John is survived by his beloved wife, Vi, daughters Sherry (David) and Annette, sons Burl (Wendy) and Lyle (Rosie), nine grandchildren (Amanda, Caitlin, Devin, Emma, Amy, Christopher, Ava, Oliver and Adrian) and two great grandchildren (Charles and Winston). Funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 27, 2021, at the Cole Chapel at the Pinecrest Cemetery.
