It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Cedric Pettigrew on July 17, 2021 at Queensway Carleton Hospital in Ottawa, Ontario at the age of 81. Cherished Father of Debbie (Mike) and John (Julie). A loving Grandfather to Katherine, Rebecca, Matthew, Tristan, Christopher, Tara (Emma), Chloe and honorary grandchildren Isidora, Abraham, Axel-Eitel and Stenzel Ntienjem. Predeceased by his beloved wife Elizabeth of over 54 years marriage, daughter Ruth and sister Marian.

Cedric was fortunate to serve Congregations in Spencerville ON, Preville QC, Montreal QC, Tyne Valley, PEI, Westville NS, Windsor ON, Halifax NS and Ottawa ON.  Retired in 2006, Cedric continued to work in roles as Interim Minister and Moderator across various Presbyterian Churches in the Ottawa area.  He was awarded the degree Doctor of Divinity (honoris causa) in 2017 by the Presbyterian College in Montreal QC, for his lifelong commitment to the church.

During his spare time, he loved spending time with family and friends, reading, travelling, watching curling, and cheering on the Blue Jays.

Many have shared with us the positive impact of Cedric’s support and guidance on their lives.  His support and love for his family and friends will be missed and will remain forever in our hearts.
