Passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 06, 2021. Loving wife of the late Fred (M.J.) Fisch.
Survived by her sons, Gary (Kim), Wayne (Maria), Alan (Sue), Dale (Suzanne). Loving Grandmother of Tamara, Scott, Andrew, Jennifer, Mackenzie, Travis, Randy and Dylan. Predeceased by her parents, bother & sister. She leaves behind her brother Jerry “Bob” (Dee) and family in Ottawa.
A true, old fashioned Maritime coal miner's daughter born and raised in Stellarton, Nova Scotia. Helen joined the Canadian Military in 1951 where she met her soul mate Fred Fisch and gave up her Military career to become a military wife, pursue a 60 year loving marriage and raise 4 boys.
Later in life, Helen did manage a proud 25 year career at Sears and enjoyed crafts, rug hooking and social events. Helen enjoyed travelling by plane or car to visit family & friends. The cottage/trailer was a weekend event she loved. Winter would not be the same without curling. A good novel was her happy place.
Few people can claim to have had the same friends for over 80 years. She had a fun nature that made many friends all over.
She will be dearly missed by many, but remembered forever. We love you mom.
If friends so desire memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
