Obituary of Stefan C. Horacsek

October 11, 1966– January 3, 2021

With deep sadness, we announce the  passing of Stefan at the Ottawa Hospital after a brief and sudden illness.  Stefan will be profoundly missed by his son, Lucas Stefan, ex-wife, Meda-Cristina, his mother, Livia, and his father, Stefan. His absence will also be deeply felt by his numerous friends in the Romanian community in Ottawa, Canadian friends, colleagues at Nav Canada, and dear friends back home in Romania.

Stefan was a natural athlete who loved sports, the outdoors and dancing. He was particularly passionate about skiing, a sport at which he excelled. Above all, Stefan loved being Lucas’ father, and spending time with him was his greatest joy.

Due to Covid 19 restrictions, A Private Family Funeral Service will be held at Pinecrest Remembrance Chapel, Ottawa, Ontario on January 8, 2021 at 10 a.m. A Private Entombment will immediately follow at Pinecrest Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Canadian Sepsis Foundation
