Obituary of Angelo Georgitsos Constable

Angelo died in hospital surrounded by his family after an incredibly courageous and brave 22 month battle with pancreatic cancer at the age of 55. Angelo leaves behind his loving wife and soul mate of 26 years, Olga Tsortos, and his twin children, Costa and Eleni. Angelo was predeceased by his father, Konstantinos. He is survived by his mother, Bessie, his brother Nick (Denise) and niece Denika. He will be sorely missed by his in-laws, John and Helen Tsortos, brother-in-law Ted Tsortos (Angie) and his nephews John and Michael. He will also be missed by many extended family members, and many life long and devoted friends and colleagues. Angelo was born and raised in Ottawa. He graduated from Laurentian High School and later Algonquin College. Angelo joined the RCMP in 2005. With his extreme determination, he graduated as the oldest member of Troop 34 and proudly served as a Constable. His first posting was in Kelowna, BC, and then he returned back to Ottawa. His career was full of adventure and he was fortunate to have worked with many incredible and supportive colleagues. Angelo was a dedicated husband and father who always put his family first. He had a heart of gold and made friends everywhere he went. He was a generous host and enjoyed telling stories and having good laughs with friends and family. Angelo loved sports and was a die hard Montreal Canadiens and Dallas Cowboys fan. He also loved listening to the Rolling Stones. A special thank you to Dr. Jonker, Dr. Pantorotto, Dr. Fitzgibbon, and to all the staff at The Ottawa Hospital Cancer Centre for all your wonderful and compassionate care provided to Angelo during his cancer care journey. A special thank you to Angelo’s home palliative care team, Dr. Bright and the Carefor nurses who so diligently and tenderly cared for Angelo in our home. Angelo, you were taken far too soon from us. We will always love you and we will miss you dearly. Your courage and bravery was inspirational to us all. Funeral to be held Friday October 23 at 1100 at Dormition of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church 1315 Prince of Wales Drive Ottawa, Ontario followed by burial at the Capital Funeral Home and Cemetery 3700 Prince of Wales Drive.
