Obituary of Valerie Sarazin (née Fedorchuk)
April 13, 1961 – September 27, 2025
Born on April 13, 1961, in Dauphin, Manitoba, Valerie Sarazin (née Fedorchuk) passed away peacefully on September 27, 2025, at the age of 64, surrounded by love and under the exceptional care of the Queensway Carleton Hospital staff.
Valerie was the daughter of Mary (Sabina) and William Fedorchuk. She was beloved wife and best friend of Donald Sarazin, with whom she shared a life full of love, laughter, and adventure. She was a devoted mother to Laura Lesniewski (Michael Lesniewski) and Kristina Beaudin (Nicholas Beaudin), and a cherished grandmother to Damian, Maxime, Lily, Jolie, and Miles. Valerie is also lovingly remembered by her sister Beverly Perron (Sylvie Perron) and brother Timothy Fedorchuk.
Valerie lived a vibrant and fulfilling life, marked by an accomplished career in the federal public service. In retirement, she embraced her passions for energy healing, while continuing to find joy in traveling the world with her husband and family. Above all, she cherished time spent with her loved ones and the lasting memories they created together.
In August 2025, Valerie was diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer. Though the illness progressed swiftly, she faced it with unwavering strength, grace, and a remarkable spirit of positivity. Her warmth, compassion, and kindness touched the lives of all who knew her.
Valerie will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all whose lives she brightened. We encourage everyone to hold close the joyful memories and moments shared with her.
A Funeral Service will be held at the Pinecrest Remembrance Chapel, 2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa on Wednesday, October 8, 2025 at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Queensway Carleton Hospital Foundation in Valerie’s memory.
