Obituary of Rodolphe "Rudy" Amyot

We are saddened to announce the peaceful passing of Rodolphe (Rudy) Amyot, age 85, of Nepean, Ontario on September 23, 2025.  He was born on June 3, 1940 in Cornwall, Ontario, son of the late Gerald and Lorette Amyot.  Preceded in death by son Michael, sister Madeleine (Jack) Green and niece Barbara Green.  Survived by cherished wife of 62 years Dolores (nee Mayosky), son Gregory (Karen) Amyot of Kirtland, Ohio, granddaughters Alyssa (Dave) Javor of Olmstead Falls, Ohio and Lyndsay (Troy) MacMullan of Arlington, Virginia, brothers Hubert (Julia) Amyot, Pierre (Suzanne) Amyot,  Andre Amyot, sister Joanne Brady and sister-in-law Joan O’Roark.  He will be greatly missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

After a stint with the RCAF in Winnipeg where he met Dolores, Rudy established his home in Ottawa.  Retired from a long career with Xerox, Rudy enjoyed global travel and cruising with Dolores.  He was an avid sailor and long time member of Britannia Yacht Club.  After his sailing days were over, Rudy was instrumental in establishing the Pickleball program at BYC where the club Pickleball trophy proudly bears his name.  His greatest joy was being a loving Grandpa to Alyssa and Lyndsay.

A family memorial service will be held at a later date.
