Obituary of Mary Audrey (Nelson) Montgomery R.N.

Audrey was born and raised in Salmon Arm, B.C. Audrey was the daughter of the late C.P. Nelson and Mary Irene Andrews of Salmon Arm, B.C. Predeceased by siblings Robert Nelson and Shirley (Nelson) Schmitz. Predeceased by her best friend and husband of 63 years Glenn Johston Montgomery.

Survived by her sons Nelson Montgomery (Joanne) and Hugh John Montgomery (Lee-Ann), grandchildren Shannon, Isabelle, Aven, and Ronan, several nieces and nephews and their spouses and her “Honey Bunnies” (you know who you are).

She loved participating in sports, in particular swimming, golfing, and cross-country skiing, singing in the United Church choir and volunteering at the Carp library.

Audrey graduated from Royal Hospital in Kamloops, B.C. and postgraduate in operating room where she spent most of her career. Married to a banker, she and Glenn moved many times and made lasting friendships across Canada and the Island of Aruba.
