Obituary of Leo Herbert

May 8, 1948-August 30, 2025

Leo passed away peacefully at the Queensway Carleton Hospital on August 30, 2025.  He left this earth far too soon and my heart is broken.  He was my husband for 35 years and I will keep him in my heart and memories forever.  He was born on May 8, 1948 in Osgoode, Ontario near Ottawa and was predeceased by his parents Ambrose and Irene, his sisters; Theresa (Reland), Margaret  (Bob), his brothers; Joseph, Edwin (Irene) and John (Cathy).  Left to mourn is his brother Paddy (late Mary), sisters; Marie, Mildred, Muriel (Murray) and Anne (Norm).

He was Uncle Leo to many nieces and nephews and Great-Uncle to his blended family, with three stepsons; John, Mike and Jeff (Melissa) and Grampy Leo to Jack, Emma and Gabriel.

Leo was a hard worker and a determined businessman.  He was kind and gentle with a soft voice.  He had many good friends of which some have also left us, but he was always a sincere and generous man who stood beside you when needed.  He will certainly be missed by many family and friends and there will be a hole left in all our hearts.

A Celebration of Leo’s Life will be held on Monday, September 8, 2025 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Highland Park (2037 McGee Side Road, Carp).  Interment to follow at Highland. 

Rest well Dear Man you certainly deserve it.  I love you Carole.
