Laura Sine (nee McGee)

Obituary of Laura Pearl Sine (nee McGee)

Passed away peacefully on July 13, 2025, at La Maison de l'Est Hospice Care in her 93rd year. Born to the late Frank and Doras McGee (Rogers), Laura's life was a testament to enduring love, dedication, and community spirit.

She was the beloved wife of the late Allan Sine for 60 years. Laura was a loving mother to Colleen Sine and mother-in-law to Pierre Chretien. She was predeceased by her brother, Eugene McGee, and will be fondly remembered by her dear sisters, Eleanor Goldthorpe and Joyce Mason-Montgomery, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Laura dedicated over 30 years of her life as a respected teller at the Bank of Montreal in Stirling. Even in retirement, she continued to enrich her community by working at a local gift shop and restaurant, and generously shared her culinary talents, helping with cooking and baking for St. John's Anglican Church, the Legion and for her beloved family and friends. Her homemade treats and comforting meals were a staple of many gatherings, always made with a generous sprinkle of love.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 2 p.m. at St. John’s Anglican Church, 73 North St., Stirling, ON. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Hospice Care Ottawa - Maison de l'Est, an organization that provided such compassionate care to Laura in her final days.
