I had the privilege to be part of the Campbell curling team on Tuesdays this year at the Ottawa Curling Club and that's where I met Ben. Bill would call the game, and Angie and I would make the shots (or not make the shots!!) Ben would patiently clean up our " mess" of rocks and always, always offer words of encouragement. Rest in peace Ben. You will be missed.

Benji was my brother in law through his sister Angie, but he was a lot more than that to my family as well. My family had been introduced to Benji well before I even knew either of his sisters. When I first met Benji I was maybe 14 yrs old which would have made him around 20. He and Michelle had just welcomed his daughter Ashleigh into the world and my family had met him and Michelle through my older sister. Well, my parents really took a liking to him as most people tend to do it seems. He even had helped my family move on at least one occasion.....possibly twice, my memory is bad but the one time was clear because he and Mark were the only people that showed up to help us move out of the one house. Many years after my family moved to Smiths Falls, I had met Angie through her sister Nicki and we had started dating. I was a little nervous to meet Angie's older brother for the first time, but when I realized who it was, that nervousness went completely away as Benji had always made me feel very comfortable. He was always a pleasure to talk to, and always made me feel at ease when he was around. Benji and I talked a lot about football usually. I really enjoyed our predictions and analysis of what was going on in the NFL world. I'm a Lions fan and will always be one, but will now also be rooting for the Steelers a little as well. It hurts to lose such a great guy, but I'm very thankful for having the opportunity to enjoy his presence at times over the last 30 years. Rest in Peace Benji

My condolences to Ben’s family, I am so sorry for your loss. My heart breaks for Kat and Arthur. I remember 9 years ago when Kat and Ben were my neighbours.
